Network Migration: Slow Down to Speed Up

A top priority for us is migrating HoloPorts from Holo’s Legacy network to Holo’s Allograph network. This move unlocks new capabilities, most notably improved performance and the ability to host static content.

After successfully migrating our internal HoloPorts, we began working with a small group of community hosts. To address the varied needs of the wider community of HoloPorts, we determined that we required SSH functionality built directly into the new network. Native SSH will create a much smoother and more reliable support process for all our hosts going forward.

Meanwhile, the necessary migration scripts are ready, and we have a pool of HoloPorts queued up for migration as soon as SSH support is live.

Other Key Development Initiatives Underway:

  • Automated Updates: We are finalizing an automated update mechanism for Allograph. This will ensure that once a HoloPort is migrated, it receives all future software updates seamlessly.
  • Static Site Hosting: Development has officially begun on our next core product. We’ve completed a successful proof-of-concept using the squashfs file system and are now building a Command Line Interface (CLI) for easy uploads and designing a distributed blob store for efficient storage.

Hivello Partnership

The Hivello integration is on hold pending required work from the Hivello team. We have moved the target delivery to Q4, but this timeline depends on their team’s prioritization.
