Q2 in Review: Laying the Foundation for Decentralized Hosting

The second quarter of the year (Q2) was a period of significant foundational deliveries for the Holo hosting platform. The development team successfully launched two crucial components that are now enabling a new era of self-service and broader accessibility for our growing customer community.

Cloud Console and Public Deployment API Go Live

A major highlight of Q2 was the completion and release of both the Cloud Console and the Public Deployment API. The initial version of the Cloud Console is specifically designed to empower users with account and API key management. This functionality is a direct enabler for the API-first deployment approach, which allows users to programmatically interact with the Holo network.

In delivering these two services, a critical milestone has been achieved: self-service onboarding. Users can now independently sign up for the platform and deploy their applications to the Holo network, a fundamental capability that significantly streamlines the user experience and opens up the platform.

Building on the Foundation

The foundational work completed in Q2, particularly the new Cloud Console and Public Deployment API, sets the stage for a more robust and accessible Holo hosting ecosystem. The team is now laser-focused on delivering static site hosting as a top priority in the current quarter, alongside other key initiatives like broader migration of HoloPorts to Allograph, all of which will further enhance the platform's capabilities and expand its reach.

Now that we have our key foundations - Allograph + Cloud Console + Holo API ready, we have intensified our development efforts to increase the number of HoloPorts on the Allograph network. This is critical for all future product development (including static site hosting), testing and hosting production workloads.

It’s important we do everything we can to avoid manually onboarding and troubleshooting each HoloPort, so we are developing tools to collect inventory, identify healthy HoloPorts and ideally do automatic updates to these HoloPorts to bring them on Allograph.
